Light the fireplace without repainting the room

A cold black firebox is a dead spot in an otherwise warm room. This paints a fire inside the opening, with the brick lit by it and a bed of embers under it, and leaves everything outside the opening exactly as you shot it.

  • 1 credit per photo
  • Four styles: Gentle, Medium, Roaring and Blue
  • The mantel, surround and hearth keep the detail you shot

What the tool actually does

Inside the opening only

The firebox is measured from the pixels, and only that rectangle is repainted. The surround, mantel, hearth and the rest of the room are your photo's own pixels, not a re-render of them.

Lit like a real fire

The fire is painted in context, so the brick behind it goes hot orange and falls off to dark in the corners, the logs sit in a bed of embers, and a faint warm cast lands on the hearth in front.

Four styles for four fireplaces

Gentle — low gas flame, no logs. Medium — gas logs, steady flames. Roaring — wood fire, tall flames. Blue — electric, blue flames.

What fireplace will not do

  • It needs a visible firebox. A fireplace shot at a sharp angle or mostly out of frame gives it nothing to fill.
  • One style per photo. Pick the one that matches the fireplace you are looking at.
  • It lights a fire. It will not add a fireplace to a wall that does not have one.

Questions about
fireplace

  • Which style for a gas fireplace?
Gentle for a linear burner with no logs, Medium for gas logs. Roaring is a wood fire and Blue is for electric units.
  • Does this need disclosing?
It adds content that was not in the original frame, so the "digitally altered" stamp is available on export. Check what your MLS requires.
  • Do I keep the original resolution and metadata?
Yes. Exports come back at the resolution you uploaded, and EXIF, XMP and ICC data are carried through to the downloaded file at 300 dpi.
  • What if I run two edits on the same photo?
A job is charged once, at the rate of its most expensive edit: a sky replacement and a declutter on the same frame is one 2-credit job, not two charges. Fireplace and TV screens are separate tools and add 1 credit each on top.
  • Do I need a subscription to try it?
Yes. Plans start at $15 a month for 30 credits, and unused plan credits roll over for three months. You can cancel at any time; the plan and the credits in your balance stay usable until the end of the billing period you have paid for.
