Take your reflection out of the TV

A switched-off TV is a black mirror, and it shows the window, the tripod and you. This finds every screen in the photo and replaces it with a clean black panel or a calm picture, fitted to the screen exactly.

  • 1 credit per photo, and nothing if the photo has no TV
  • Four choices: Black screen, Lake, Coast and Art
  • The rest of the photo keeps every pixel you shot

What the tool actually does

Fitted to the screen, not painted over the room

The screen is found and its four corners measured, then the picture is warped into exactly that shape. A TV seen at a steep angle gets a picture at the same angle. No image model repaints the photo, so nothing else in the frame can change.

What stands in front of the TV stays

A plant, a lamp or a vase overlapping the screen is kept as it was. A window or a person reflected IN the screen is the thing being removed, and goes.

Safe to run on the whole shoot

Most photos in a shoot have no TV. Those are skipped and not charged, so you can select everything and only pay for the rooms that had a screen.

What TV screens will not do

  • A TV that is cut off by the edge of the photo is left alone. Half a screen cannot be fitted reliably, so it is skipped rather than guessed at.
  • A small, dark TV on a dark wall can be missed. When no screen is found the job fails and the credit comes back.
  • Every TV in the photo gets the same picture. There is no per-screen choice.
  • It replaces a screen. It will not remove a TV from the wall or add one.

Questions about
TV screens

  • Which option should I use?
Black screen is the safe default: a clean black panel with the reflections gone, which no MLS can object to. The pictures are for when a lit screen makes the room feel lived in.
  • Can I use the pictures on a client listing?
Yes. They were made for this tool and contain no people, text, logos or recognisable places, so there is no third-party content on the listing.
  • Does this need disclosing?
It changes what the screen shows, so the "digitally altered" stamp is available on export. Check what your MLS requires.
  • Do I keep the original resolution and metadata?
Yes. Exports come back at the resolution you uploaded, and EXIF, XMP and ICC data are carried through to the downloaded file at 300 dpi.
  • What if I run two edits on the same photo?
A job is charged once, at the rate of its most expensive edit: a sky replacement and a declutter on the same frame is one 2-credit job, not two charges. Fireplace and TV screens are separate tools and add 1 credit each on top.
  • Do I need a subscription to try it?
Yes. Plans start at $15 a month for 30 credits, and unused plan credits roll over for three months. You can cancel at any time; the plan and the credits in your balance stay usable until the end of the billing period you have paid for.
