Day to dusk, without going back at dusk
The twilight shot is the one agents put first in the listing, and the one clients pay extra for. This relights the whole frame rather than pasting a sunset behind the house.
- 3 credits per photo — the hero-shot tool, not the batch tool
- Three looks: Golden hour, Twilight and Dusk
- Interior and exterior lights come on, and the scene is re-exposed to match

What the tool actually does
The whole frame is relit
Sky, exposure, shadows and window glow all move together. That is the difference between a twilight conversion and a sky swap with a blue gradient — the house has to look like it was actually photographed at dusk.
Three looks for three jobs
Golden hour gives a warm sky with shining pavement. Twilight gives deep blue with pink cloud, the classic listing cover. Dusk is the restrained one: a natural late-evening sky for markets where the pink version reads as overdone.
Priced as an upsell
At 3 credits this is deliberately not a bulk tool. One or two per listing is the normal pattern, and it is the line item that pays for itself on the invoice.
What virtual twilight will not do
- It needs a visible sky. An interior or a tightly framed detail shot has nothing to relight.
- A photo already shot at dusk does not need this, and running it anyway will fight the existing light.
- Windows that were dark and curtained will not invent a room behind them.
Questions about
virtual twilight
How is this different from sky replacement?
Sky replacement swaps the sky and leaves the rest of the photo as shot, at 1 credit. Twilight re-exposes the entire frame for dusk, turns the lights on and rebalances the shadows, at 3 credits. They are different jobs and they are priced differently.Do I have to disclose a twilight conversion?
Rules vary by market. Anything that composites new content into a frame can be exported with a "virtually staged" or "digitally altered" stamp in the corner, and several MLS markets require that. Check your own MLS rules.Do I keep the original resolution and metadata?
Yes. Exports come back at the resolution you uploaded, and EXIF, XMP and ICC data are carried through to the downloaded file at 300 dpi. What if I run two edits on the same photo?
A job is charged once, at the rate of its most expensive edit: a sky replacement and a declutter on the same frame is one 2-credit job, not two charges. Fireplace and TV screens are separate tools and add 1 credit each on top.Do I need a subscription to try it?
Yes. Plans start at $15 a month for 30 credits, and unused plan credits roll over for three months. You can cancel at any time; the plan and the credits in your balance stay usable until the end of the billing period you have paid for.
